....so I actually started this essay back in.... May, and never actually finished it. WHOOPS. Anyway, given that canon recently very clearly spelled out some answers to a few things I'd been uncertain on before, now seems a good time to revisit the subject of what, exactly, the deal with Ayanami and Verloren is.

SPOILERS for 07-Ghost up to and including some recent chapters!

Since when I originally did a post like this it was before canon went and clarified a few things for us, I figured I might as well do a nice, clean, updated version of this. So! Various things about Ayanami that might hit on peoples' pings in camp. Spoilery bits have been whited out.

Alright, since canon was oh so kind as to explain a whole bunch of stuff to do with Verloren and the Ghosts, here's an up to date explanation of just what all is going on there. Characters able to see/sense/are otherwise pinged by spiritual-type stuff may want to have a look, though naturally there are spoilers for recently revealed background information.

For those who haven't already heard (or generally noticed our cast's collective spazzing), the latest chapter of 07-Ghost delivered a few interesting new tidbits. And by "a few tidbits" I mean holy crap backstory infodump.

So uh, needless to say, there's a lot to analyze! A looot of this pertains to Ayanami anyway, though there's some interesting bits relating to the Ghosts and so on as well. Needless to say, this will be full of spoilers and also probably rambling as I'm not really following any particular guideline, just trying to sort out what the heck's going on with all this new info. |Db

One of many essays I keep meaning to do, but since Kuroyuri and now Hyuuga are in camp, this one is especially relevant. Ayanami and how he relates to people, especially those few cases of people he actually cares about. Warnings for rambling incoherency because it is laaaate.

Calling a semi/mini-hiatus for the next couple days on account of not wanting to aggravate a very nasty papercut I gave myself today and which hinders my typing. Because getting blood all over the keyboard would be bad. This post is mostly just so that people know to yell at me if I start threading a bunch.

...of course, I say this after typing up the translation for an entire chapter of 07-Ghost, whoops? >_>

*Somewhere, that is certainly not the center of camp- in fact, so much so that it's rather notably an especially secluded and rarely explored are- there is on this day a certain Warsfeil. If one were to happen by they might notice he seems to be doing something, but, well, the reason for so carefully selecting the location was just to avoid that sort of thing in the first place, wasn't it?*
